Cookie Policy

Last updated: 15 June 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Therapyway uses cookies and similar technologies on therapyway.co.uk. Read it together with our Privacy Policy, which covers how we handle personal data more broadly, so you can see what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Therapyway is a marketplace run by Therapyway Ltd that connects the public with independent, HCPC-registered therapists. This policy applies only to our marketing website.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website saves on your device when you visit. They let a site remember things between pages and visits, such as the cookie preferences you have set. We also use related technologies, including browser local storage, that work in much the same way. Where this policy says cookies, we mean cookies and these similar technologies.

How we use cookies

We sort the cookies on our site into two groups. The first is always on. The second runs only if you give consent.

  • Strictly necessary cookies. These keep the website working and cannot be switched off through our consent banner. They support things like page navigation and security, and they remember the cookie choices you have made so we do not ask again on every visit. Because the site needs them to work and to honour your preferences, we set them without asking for consent.
  • Analytics and performance cookies. We use Google Analytics and PostHog to see how people use the site, which pages get visited, and what we could improve. These tools set cookies and may use local storage to measure visits and usage. They run only after you give consent, and they stay off if you decline.

We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of you or to sell your information.

Our analytics and performance cookies are non-essential, so they are opt-in. The first time you visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or reject them. We set no analytics cookies until you choose to accept. If you do nothing or decline, we use only the strictly necessary cookies. You can change your mind whenever you like by reopening the banner and updating your choice, or by clearing the cookies your browser has stored, which resets your preference so we will ask you again.

Managing cookies in your browser

Most browsers let you view the cookies stored on your device and delete them, and you can usually set your browser to block cookies or warn you before one is set. You will find these controls in your browser's settings or privacy menu, though the exact steps differ from one browser to the next. Blocking or deleting some cookies can affect how parts of the site work, including whether it can remember your cookie preferences.

Third-party cookies

Two outside providers set our analytics cookies: Google Analytics, provided by Google, and PostHog. When these are active with your consent, the providers may process data on our behalf and set their own cookies. Each one has its own privacy and cookies information explaining how it handles data, and it is worth reading their policies if you want the detail. We turn these services on only after you accept analytics cookies.

Tracking signals

Some browsers can send a Do Not Track signal or a Global Privacy Control signal. There is no agreed standard for how websites should respond to Do Not Track, and our site does not currently change what it does based on these signals. We rely on the cookie banner to record your choice instead, so the easiest way to control analytics cookies is to accept or reject them there.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we add or remove a tool or change how consent works. When we do, we will update the date shown on this page. It is worth checking back now and then so you know which cookies we use.
